THE HAGGIS HORNS TESTIMONIALS

"I was signed in the past, we got a horn section in a really big fancy London studio ie “Metropolis Studios” with a talented named producer, no expense spared.  it was really really good.  *BUT*   The Haggis Horns Remote Sessions blew that project out the water. They are incredible in every way.  Why spend extreme amounts of money, going into a big fancy studio with a producer that doesn’t really know all the true workings of how to build the true depth of a horn sections raw EPIC sound. When you CAN GET!!! a one thousand  times better a sound/recording AND performance by people that know their instruments inside and out, with the talent for recording that wouldn’t sound out of place in Abbey Roads.   I can’t even put in to words how unbelievably incredible The Haggis Horns Remote sessions are.   I used two different horn sections from different parts of the world to record a track. Before working with The Haggis Horns Remote sessions. Not one section worked for my sound. It was good but the other horn sections were just too jazz minded and made my funk/pop track sound like a David Sanborn track. Not that that is a bad thing, JUST (Not what I was looking for on a funk/pop track). After the second session failed I remembered all the best musicians talking about The Haggis Horns. So I contacted Atholl Ransome and told him about my project and that I found it EXTREMELY HARD to think and write horn parts, as every horn part I wrote sounds like an “American football marching band “ and asked if he would simplify and arrange the parts and hooks I wrote and make them sit in the track. They always know just what the track needs. Not too much, not too little. Just on point at all times. They always know how bring their A-game and make an idea into a masterpiece.   I only wrote one funk track for a horn section to play on my album, but after hearing how unbelievably they arranged, played, edited and recorded the track, I asked if they would record all ten tracks on the album. It’s was a gamble but I was so happy he said yes and got to work fast, on time and always 100% better than I could ever have pictured 10/10. They played a large genre of diverse styles and every single time the tracks got more EPIC, but never over played ie just right. They give you crescendos you didn’t know you needed. Stabs and hooks that take the track to the next level,  that also gel the track together and give it the glue that’s needed, at the same time as holding back to give you an extraordinary vibe.   In short.  Can’t wait to write ten more just to work with them again. "
